The images in this series are created from foraged handmade inks in combination with commercial inks of various kinds. The combination creates unusual reactions and effects. My intention with this body of work was to utilize these strange relationships to play with the viewer's perception of depth and scale in our natural environment. These images can at once be micro and macro like aerial views of the earth out of context; rivers easily turn into blood cells in a vein, pine trees become microscopic hairs on an insects leg, mountain ranges become a virus as it deforms cells, multiplies, and spreads.
