Science Experiments

My new body of work explores ideas of invasion.  The compositions develop from images of natural disasters, invasive species, mold, fungus, tumors, and parasites.  Each has a negative connotation and often creates an uneasiness.  The knee-jerk reaction is disgust.  However, once the identity of the image is removed, there are beautiful forms, patterns, colors and textures present that are rich and evocative.  This dichotomy is what interests me and what I plan to continue to examine as the work progresses.
